The Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship (SSES) was founded in 1999 with the mission to increase interest and knowledge in interdisciplinary applied entrepreneurship at its member universities. Today, these members are the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE), Karolinska Institutet (KI), the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design (Konstfack), and Stockholm University (SU). The school's activities comprise three areas: academic education, skills training, startup pre-incubation and acceleration, and networking and inspiration.

Organisation

SSES consists of a core administrative team, faculty members, and dozens of domestic and international guest experts contributing to its activities annually. SSES is represented by five Competence Centres at each of its five member universities, led by a Centre Director.

Achievements

SSES courses are accredited at all member universities. Member university students enrol in an interdisciplinary environment bridging theoretical and practical entrepreneurship, working across disciplines - resulting in medical students working with engineers, business students and designers. Today the SSES portfolio consists of academic courses both at the MSc and PhD level. By the end of 2017 SSES will have offered a total of 250 academic courses with over 11000 student graduations.

SSES leads hands-on skills training workshops for its students and alumni, with over 240 activities to date. SSES portfolio of training consists of three categories; International Bootcamps, Weekend Workshops, Toolbox Fridays.

SSES' annual events Start-up Day and Good Morning offer an opportunity for an additional 1000+ entrepreneurs and alumni to interact on an annual basis.

Partner schools

SSES operates on a global basis with a number of partners in academia. These include Aalto University, Cornell University, d.school (Stanford University), Hong Kong Design Institute, Hong Kong Polytech University, National Institute of Design, India, National University of Singapore, Paris-est d.school, San Diego State University, Stellenbosch University, University College London, University of California, Berkeley and University of Texas Austin.
